(In person or Online, Grades 6-12, Coach Benjamin Hagwood & Maverick Edwards)
Public Forum II
During this two week course students will work on advanced debate concepts such as summary/final focus strategy, evidence comparison and research skills. This course will culminate in a tournament at the end of the session. Public forum I is a prerequisite for attending this class.
Age Range: Grades 6-12
Hours: 2-5pm PST
Skill Level: Advanced
Dates：
Session 1, July 11-22 (Mon- Fri only)
Session 2, July 25th- August 5th (Mon- Fri only)
Session 3, All 4 weeks, Session 1 & 2 (Mon- Fri only)
Length: 3 hours
Tuition 2 weeks $1200, 4 weeks $2400

Sample Weekly Schedule Example 1
Day 1: Assessment and Argumentation – students will be assessed based on their speaking and research skills.
Day 2: Introduction of session topic and partnerships – students will be given the upcoming debate topics and assigned a partner to begin preparing
Day 3: Research and ReFutation – students will review how to effectively engage topics and reFute positions.
Day 4: Second Half Strategy – students will learn how to properly execute the second half of the debate round.
Day 5: Mini Debates – students will practice their cases against other students.
Day 6: Lay appeal – students will be introduced to lay appeal techniques
Day 7: Block Party – students will receive advanced block and practice writing them.
Day 8: Tournament Prep
Day 9-10: Final Session Tournament!
